Introduction

The third challenge of the HackFest will be AI in Education, Finance and Tech Industries to create cutting-edge AI solutions that will revolutionize the adoption of education, finance and technology. The fields of education, finance, and technology are vast, with many areas where AI can make a significant impact, from personalized learning and student success to financial forecasting and fraud detection.

Problem Statement

The problem statement for the AI hackathon in Education, Finance, and Tech is to create innovative AI solutions that can help address some of the most pressing challenges in these industries. These challenges may include improving student outcomes and personalized learning, optimizing financial operations and decision-making, and enhancing technology solutions for businesses and individuals. Participants are encouraged to identify specific pain points within these industries and propose solutions that leverage AI technology to address these challenges. The goal is to develop AI solutions that can be implemented by educational institutions, financial organizations, and tech companies to improve outcomes and efficiencies.

Awards/Prizes

1st Prize: 1 team or individual, $300 cash prizes + 2months of AI marketplace subscription worth $499

2nd Prize: 1 team or individual, $200 cash prizes + 2months of AI marketplace subscription worth $499

In addition, all finalists will be featured on AI Planet blogpost, newsletter and social media channels with a global exposure.

REWARDS

Participation Guidelines:

Organizer and Jury Discretion: The organizer and jury reserve the right to decide the winner at their discretion, taking into consideration the quality, originality, and relevance of the submissions.
Non-Transferable Prizes: Winning prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions or cash equivalents will be provided.
No Cheating: Cheating in any form, including plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, or use of external resources without proper attribution, is strictly prohibited. Participants found cheating will be disqualified from the competition.
Attribution: Participants must properly attribute any resources, data, or code that are not their own original work. This includes providing citations, references, and/or links to the original source.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for prizes, participants must meet the following minimum criteria:
a. Fulfill all the requirements outlined in the hackathon guidelines.
b. Must have a score of at least 30% or more in each of the evaluation criteria categories (impact, value, quality, prototype, scalability (with AI Marketplace) mentioned under the “Evaluation” tab. With only being implementation of model with AI Marketplace being optional.
The purpose of these requirements is to encourage participants to submit complete and well-rounded submissions.
Disqualification for Non-Compliance: Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be considered invalid and will not be eligible for prizes. Participants must ensure their submissions adhere to all rules and requirements to be considered for awards.
Modifications and Amendments: The organizer reserves the right to modify or amend these guidelines at any time without prior notice. Participants are encouraged to regularly check for updates and adhere to the most recent version of the guidelines.
Participant Conduct: Participants are expected to maintain a respectful and professional demeanor throughout the hackathon. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.
Queries and Concerns: For any questions or concerns related to the hackathon or these guidelines, participants should contact the organizer through the designated communication channels provided during the event.
The challenge is open for all except for the residents of states and countries sanctioned as per Belgian law. Other local rules, age restrictions and regulations may apply to you, so please check your local laws to ensure that you are eligible to participate in skills-based competitions. The organizer reserves the right to award alternative prizes where needed to comply with local laws.
Taxes: All taxes imposed on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Payments to potential winners are subject to the express requirement that they submit all documentation requested by the organizer for compliance with applicable state, federal, local, and foreign (including provincial) tax reporting and withholding requirements. Prizes will be net of any taxes that the organizer is required by law to withhold. If a potential winner fails to provide any required documentation or comply with applicable laws, the prize may be forfeited, and the organizer may select an alternative potential winner.
In the event that a potential winner of the AI Planet competition does not respond to the notification attempt within one (1) week of the first notification attempt, or if the potential winner notifies the competition administrator within one week after the Final Submission Deadline that they do not wish to be nominated as a winner or do not wish to receive a Prize, then such potential winner will forfeit their Prize. Please note that all decisions made by the competition administrator regarding disqualification and the selection of alternate potential winners will be final and binding.
Licensing Terms:
- Intellectual Property: Participants retain ownership of any intellectual property (IP) they create during the hackathon. However, by participating in the event, they grant the organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, and perpetual license to use, display, and distribute their submissions for promotional and educational purposes.
- Optionally, Winners & Other participants can open source their models/apps as it will be made accessible to a broader global AI community, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.
