This competition is a Capstone challenge as part of
Summer Analytics 2023
, a primer course on Data Science and Machine Learning, conducted by
Consulting and Analytics Club, IIT Guwahati
.

Consulting and Analytics Club
is a platform for the Consulting, Data Science, and Analytics community of IITG to discuss, learn and collaborate on advancements in Business, ML & AI. We have created a culture of contributing to and improving a dynamic, fast-changing world.

Before starting, go through the
Rules
to understand the leaderboard format and know the rules regarding submissions.

Review the evaluation tab to understand how your submissions are scored on the leaderboard. We have provided details on the metrics used to score your submission.

The score given to you on the course leaderboard for this hackathon will depend on your score on the private leaderboard. We will also require
notebook submissions from all participants
. The course leaderboard scores will rely significantly on the
quality of the work
you show, not just your personal LB score.

Rules and guidelines should be strictly followed for the Capstone Project.

  • This is a Capstone Project where every registered person participates individually, so no team of 2 and above formation is allowed.

  • You'll be provided with Training as well as Testing Data Set. You must Train your model on the training data set and submit the predictions over the test data set on the hackathon's page.

  • Use of external Data is not allowed.

  • There will be 2 Leaderboards:

  • Public Leaderboard: The Public leaderboard will be visible to everyone throughout the time

  • Private Leaderboard: It will be visible once the hackathon ends. Public leaderboards judge your predictions on 60% of the test data set, and private leaderboard judges on the rest 40%.

  • The reason behind the Private leaderboard is to discourage the practice of overfitting the model on the Public leaderboard.

  • You are allowed to make only 5 submissions in a day for 3 days.

  • You all are supposed to choose two submissions before the end of the competition.

  • All competition participants will be asked to submit their notebooks, so keep them informative and clean. Your Notebook submissions will also be evaluated.

  • This
hackathon will be part of your grading,
    so you must rename your
    team name
    to
    the
    <first_name>_<registered_email_ID>
format. Example: If your first name is
    abc
    and your email ID is
    xyz123@email.com
    ,
then your team name would be
    abc_xyz123.

  • You'll be allowed to make only 5 submissions on the website daily. So, it'd be good if you started earlier. The people who will start soon will be able to make more submissions.

  • You're strictly advised not to publish your notebooks before the end of the Hackathon. If found, it'd lead to disqualification of your team.

  • You're not allowed to discuss the approach among the participants in the "Discussion Channel" before the end of the Hackathon.

  • Don't Use Multiple accounts for submissions

  • Violating any rules stated will strictly lead to disqualification(without any warnings) from the Summer Analytics 2023 Course.

  • Don't cheat!

  • Apply yourself!

  • Have fun!
